October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month

Oct 1, 2024

It’s cyber security month and we are reminded that technology is moving at a pace that’s almost impossible to keep up with. That while we have come light years with technology so has the hacking industry. That in the rush to centralize thru cloud services we have failed to see the unintended consequences of such technology. The truth is your data is less safe today that when your internet was used for information only. Most of us are unaware just how at risk our data is. Most cloud service providers use large scale server communities to provide your service. This means at any time an employee at these large companies can compromise your company data. Think about how your data may have been compromised by an employee in the past. It can be as easy as a moment of lack of discretion on an email, sharing information in a casual conversation, or the more nefarious actions we see people take every day. Remember the bigger these companies are the less security breaches will be reported or stuffed on the back page of the news and quickly buried after that. This is the plain truth, it’s reality.

Making decisions about your company network and data should include an honest conversation about the real challenges you are facing. While most companies will tell you about the sunshine, Litefoot technology will tell you about reality. Your experience in life tells you everything has compromises and your network/data structure is no different. Because of these massive challenges Litefoot has developed a layered approach to security. What tools we recommend you use are a direct reflection of where your data lives and how you use it doing daily business. We take these challenges very seriously and will deal with reality while doing it. God bless and safe computing.
